Wedding Day Emergency Kit

You’ve done all the planning, finalized all your vendors, signed all your contracts, and truly been dedicated to that beauty and fitness regimen. And now, the big day is here! But oops! Heartburn is kicking in, and one of the bridesmaids just got their period. And, that groomsman that is flying in from out-of-state just got here, and realized he didn’t pack any black socks!
No matter how well you plan, and think of every last detail, accidents happen, surprises happen, and whilst we can’t plan for every single possible event, we can be reasonably prepared for some common occurrences. Today on the blog, let’s dive into a list of little things that you can pack into a small “Emergency Kit”, and then entrust this kit to a bridesmaid, groomsman, or wedding planner.

Bride’s Checklist

Here are some items that may come in handy on the big day, and help you be prepared for any little emergencies that may arise.

  • Makeup for touchups (Lipstick, lip products, powderpuff with powder, small eyelash glue)

  • Paper straws for drinking, so that makeup does not get messed up while you hydrate

  • Safety pins

  • Hairpins

  • Travel sized hairspray

  • Travel sized painkillers, antacids, a small first-aid kit, bandaids

  • Travel sized dental hygiene kit: toothbrush, toothpaste, floss picks, mouthwash, breathmints

  • Travel sized deodorant/ deodorant wipes

  • Perfume/ fragrance

  • Any medications you normally take

  • Wet wipes

  • Spare undergarments

  • Small sewing kit

  • Tampons/ pads

  • Scissors

  • Eye drops, contact lens solution if you wear contacts, and spare lenses

Groom’s Checklist

Mishaps don’t discriminate, so they’re not just relegated to the ladies’ suite. These are some items that can be quite useful to the groom and his groomsmen as well.

  • Travel sized deodorant

  • Travel sized shaving kit

  • Fragrance/ Cologne

  • Spare socks and undergarments

  • Wet wipes

  • Travel dental hygiene kit: toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, floss picks, breathmints

  • Any medications normally taken

  • Small first-aid kit, painkillers, antacids

  • Travel sewing kit, and scissors

  • Travel shoe polish kit/ shoe wipes

  • Travel sized clear, silicone facial primer (will mattify skin wonderfully for pictures, without having the appearance of any product!)

No one wants any wedding day mishaps or emergencies, but the unfortunate reality, is that they do happen. Whether it’s a stray tendril of hair falling out of your updo, or a headache, it’s certainly nice to be prepared. This checklist by no means contains every possible item you could find yourself needing should an emergency arise, but it’s a great starting point! Alter this list as appropriate for your needs, and keep your little kit handy for the big day! (Wishing you a flawless day so you don’t actually need any of these!)

With love,
Anaarita.
